About this place
The Wonju community of the Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity is listed in the Catholic Church directory in Korea as a women's institute of consecrated life belonging to the Diocese of Wonju. It is currently located at 1723 Chiak-ro in Dangu-dong, Wonju, and is identified as the institute's local community in the Wonju area. To understand the place correctly, it should first be distinguished from an ordinary parish or a public retreat house: it is a religious community where members live common life and carry out their apostolate.
The spirituality of the Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity centers on inbo, neighborly care rooted in the love of Christ manifested in the Eucharist. The institute describes itself as an apostolic religious congregation that cooperates in material, psychological, and spiritual service, social work, and the proclamation of the Gospel. Because publicly available sources do not detail the specific local apostolate of the Wonju community, it is most accurate to present the place as a local religious community living the spirituality and mission of the institute within the Diocese of Wonju.
