Hosang Mission Station

Hosan Mission Station is a Catholic mission station in the Yeongdong District of the Diocese of Wonju, under Sajik-dong Parish, serving Catholics in the southern coastal area of Wondeok-eup, Samcheok. The Guide to the Catholic Church in Korea lists Hosan as a mission station under Sajik-dong Parish. Unlike a large parish church, it represents the close communal character of a mission station, providing a local place where Catholics living some distance from the parish church can gather for prayer and participate in liturgical life.

Hosan has also developed space for formation and retreat in addition to its role as a local faith community. The Catholic Times reported that an education building was completed and blessed in 2007, with a hall and accommodation facilities suitable for retreats and training. The presence of such facilities shows how Hosan's role expanded beyond that of a small local chapel, offering a place where Catholics from the diocese and other parishes could also stay, reflect on their faith, and take part in formation.
