The Uijeongbu branch of the Seoul Province of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus is a women's religious community at 48 Juhwa-ro in Goyang, the same address as Juyeop-dong Parish. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea registers it as a local religious house in the Diocese of Uijeongbu, where the sisters live community life and carry out apostolic service in connection with the parish.
The congregation centers its spirituality on caritas—the love of Christ expressed through life and service. The Juyeop community is therefore not the parish itself, but a religious house serving the Church in cooperation with the local parish.
History & origins
The Caritas Sisters of Jesus were founded on August 15, 1937, and entered Korea on October 19, 1956. Their Korean ministry later expanded through parish, educational, and social-service apostolates.
The congregation's official history records a mission assignment to Juyeop-dong Parish in February 1996. A Seoul Province Uijeongbu branch is now registered at the same address, showing the continuity of a local religious presence. The 1996 assignment, however, should not automatically be treated as the formal canonical opening date of the branch.
