Jesus Heart Learning Center is a retreat, prayer, and formation facility run by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart at 21 Hanbit-ro in Paju. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea classifies it as a diocesan “retreat/prayer house” and identifies the Sisters of the Sacred Heart as the community responsible for it.
Its ministry centers on spiritual exercises, retreats, and formation programs, especially the “Jesus Heart Prayer.” Programs range from short retreats to longer periods of spiritual training for laypeople, religious, and clergy. History & origins
The Sisters of the Sacred Heart began their Jesus Heart Prayer spiritual exercises in 1993. As the ministry developed, a dedicated retreat and formation facility was created, and Jesus Heart Learning Center opened in 1999 in Paju, offering retreats and spiritual programs of varying lengths.
After years of use, the center underwent renovation and was blessed at a reopening ceremony on September 28, 2019. It continues the congregation's spirituality ministry through Jesus Heart Prayer, retreats, and formation. The dates should be distinguished: 1993 marks the beginning of the prayer program, 1999 the opening of the center, and 2019 its reopening after renovation.
