About this place
This location is the Songchu branch of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a women's religious community in Unam Songchu Village Apartments at 40-8 Gamagol-ro, Jangheung-myeon, Yangju. The Catholic Church Directory registers it separately as the congregation's Songchu branch in the Diocese of Uijeongbu.
It is distinct from the congregation's Imjingak branch and Fatima Peace Church in Munsan. The directory identifies this address as a religious-community branch rather than a parish church, and public sources provide only limited information about its specific local apostolate.
History & origins
The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary were founded on March 25, 1986. The congregation later developed local communities, and the Diocese of Uijeongbu currently lists the Songchu branch and the Imjingak branch as separate houses.
The present Songchu address and community are confirmed in the official Church directory, but its exact local opening date is not publicly documented. The year 1986 therefore refers only to the foundation of the congregation as a whole, not to the establishment of the Songchu branch.
