About this place
Songsan Catholic Church is a parish of District 3 of the Diocese of Uijeongbu at 29 Buyong-ro 219beon-gil in Uijeongbu. It was established on September 4, 2003, and has St. Peter the Apostle as its patron.
Located within a residential area, it supports local Catholics through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and youth and family life, seeking to live the Gospel in the wider community.
History & origins
Songsan Parish was established on September 4, 2003, after separating from Yonghyeon-dong Parish, and Fr. John Bosco Ji Jeong-tae arrived as the first pastor that October. The new community initially celebrated Mass in a tent because it had no permanent church.
A church was dedicated in 2005, and as the community grew, the building was expanded from May to October 2006, creating the form of the parish church seen today.
