The Marianist Center is a retreat and prayer house under the Diocese of Uijeongbu, located at 76-17 Hosu-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea identifies the Society of Mary as the responsible religious institute, and the Marianist Korean district and its central community are also located at the same address.

This is not an independent parish but a place for prayer, retreats, and spiritual renewal within the Marianist apostolate. The Catholic Times has noted day retreats at the Marianist Center among the Society of Mary's ministries in Korea. Its primary identity is therefore a religious-order retreat ministry rather than ordinary territorial parish ministry.

History & origins

The history behind the Marianist Center belongs to the Korean apostolate of the Society of Mary. The Society was founded on October 2, 1817, and the Catholic Church Directory in Korea records its arrival in Korea on September 20, 1960. Its ministries in Korea later expanded through education, youth and lay apostolates, and retreat work.

Today the Marianist Center in Todang-dong, Goyang, operates as a retreat and prayer house at the same address as the Korean district and its central community. Public Church sources consulted here do not provide a reliable opening date for the present center or the date of its move to this site, so no such date is asserted.
