Madu-dong Catholic Church is a parish of District 6 of the Diocese of Uijeongbu, located at 254 Ilsan-ro in Ilsandong-gu, Goyang. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea records the parish as established on October 5, 2001, with St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus as its patron.

History & origins
Madu-dong Parish was created in 2001 as Catholic life expanded in the Ilsan area and territory was separated from Baekseok-dong Parish. Contemporary material records a decision to create the new parish in September 2001, while the Catholic Church Directory in Korea gives October 5 of that year as the formal establishment date. These are best understood as different stages: the decision and the formal establishment.
Soon afterward, Fr. James Kim Gyeong-mo became the first pastor and began his ministry in October 2001. The present parish thus emerged when part of the territory formerly served by Baekseok-dong became an independent Catholic community.
