About this place
The Uijeongbu branch of the Sisters of Divine Providence is a women's religious community at 271 Cheonbo-ro in Uijeongbu. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea registers it as a local house within the Diocese of Uijeongbu where the sisters live in community and carry out apostolic service.
Grounded in trust in Divine Providence, the congregation serves through education, social welfare, and other ministries of the Church. This location is a religious house for community life and apostolate, not an ordinary territorial parish.
History & origins
The Sisters of Divine Providence were founded in Germany on September 29, 1851, and the Catholic Church Directory in Korea records August 19, 1966, as the congregation's arrival in Korea. The Korean St. Joseph Province later developed ministries in education, social welfare, and other forms of Church service.
An Uijeongbu branch is now registered at 271 Cheonbo-ro. The opening date of this specific local community is not publicly documented, so 1851 refers to the foundation of the congregation and 1966 to its arrival in Korea, not to the Uijeongbu house.
