About this place
Ozanam Life Learning Center is a facility that the Diocese of Suwon officially classifies as a “retreat and education center” in its directory of institutions and organizations. Located in Pajang-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon, it is used as a place for education and spirituality where Catholics and Catholic groups can step away from daily routines, reflect on their faith, learn, and continue community activities.
Diocesan records also note an anniversary Mass celebrated here by the Suwon diocesan council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. This shows that the center has served not merely as a lecture venue, but as a setting for Catholic education, spiritual activities, and community gatherings.
History & origins
According to records of the Diocese of Suwon, a Mass marking the third anniversary of the opening of Ozanam Life Learning Center was celebrated there on May 8, 2010. Members of the Suwon diocesan council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul attended, and Bishop Mathias Lee Yong-hoon, the diocesan bishop, presided at the Mass. This record confirms that the center had already been operating from the late 2000s and was closely connected with Vincentian activities.
The Diocese of Suwon now classifies Ozanam Life Learning Center as a “retreat and education center” in its directory of institutions and organizations. Taken together, the anniversary record from its early years and its current official classification show how the center developed from a meeting place used by Catholic organizations into a space supporting faith formation, retreats, and community learning.
