Sons of Mary Congregation

About this place

The Yongin community of the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception is listed in the Catholic Church Directory in Korea as the “Yongin Community (Star of Heaven).” Although it is located within the territory of the Diocese of Suwon, it is not an ordinary parish church. It should be understood as a local religious community of the congregation, which honors the Immaculate Virgin Mary as its patron.

Following the spirit of Blessed Luigi Maria Monti, the congregation began with the care of the sick and people in need and later expanded its work into education and social welfare. Its constitutions and Catholic sources describe healing the sick, concern for orphans and marginalized young people, and education through love as important aspects of its mission. The Yongin community, known by the secondary name “Star of Heaven,” shares in this tradition of consecrated life and apostolic service.

The directory's designation “Yongin Community (Star of Heaven)” is the official identifier that distinguishes this place from the congregation's headquarters or from an ordinary welfare facility. Public sources do not separately describe the detailed apostolate of this particular community, so it is safer not to assign it an unsupported institutional function but to understand it within the verified scope of a local community living the consecrated life and charitable and educational mission of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception. This distinction presents the congregation's identity without overstating the character of the site.
