Inbo Convent of the Blessed Sacrament Religious Community

About this place

The Yongin Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity is a religious community of the congregation located within the territory of the Diocese of Suwon. The Guide to the Catholic Church in Korea identifies this place specifically as the “Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity, Yongin Monastery,” and the congregation's own materials list Yongin together with its Jeonju motherhouse and Seoul monastery as a current place for prayer and retreat. Because official records explicitly use the subsidiary name “Yongin Monastery,” this location should be distinguished from the congregation as a whole and from its motherhouse. Even when the database label uses the broader congregational name, the place itself is a specific religious community in Yongin, an important distinction for understanding its identity correctly.

The Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity place at the center of their religious life and apostolate the love expressed in the Eucharist and the spirit of inbo, or caring for one's neighbor and sharing happiness together. The Yongin Monastery lives within this spirituality through prayer and common life and is also used for personal prayer, vocation accompaniment, and retreats in which young people can share the community's liturgical life. It is therefore best understood not as an ordinary parish church but as a monastery where religious community life, prayer, and vocational discernment take place. The monastery stays and liturgical retreats described by the congregation do not mean that the site functions as an ordinary tourist facility; they take place within the monastery’s purposes of prayer and vocational discernment. Visitors should therefore consult the congregation’s guidance before planning a visit.
