About this place
The Icheon Community of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd is listed in the Korean Catholic Directory as a women’s institute of consecrated life within the Diocese of Suwon and is located in Baeksa-myeon, Icheon. The Sisters of the Good Shepherd are an international religious congregation that carries forward the spiritual heritage of St. Mary Euphrasia. Following the compassionate image of Jesus Christ the Good Shepherd, the congregation regards accompanying wounded and marginalized people and living the Church’s mission of reconciliation as central to its charism.
The meaning of the Icheon Community is best understood first through religious life itself and through this charism rather than by assigning it the function of a particular facility. The sisters bear witness within the Church to mercy and reconciliation through prayer, common life, and a consecrated way of life. Official sources currently confirm clearly that the community at this address is the Icheon Community of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, but they do not sufficiently establish the specific apostolate of this individual community, so it would be inappropriate to generalize beyond what is documented.
