Bangchuk-ri Mission

About this place

Bangchuk-ri Mission Station is a Catholic mission community in the Songtan District of the First Vicariate of the Diocese of Suwon and is under the pastoral care of Gungni Parish. The diocese's official mission-station directory explicitly lists Bangchuk-ri as belonging to Gungni Parish, so it should be understood not as an independent parish but as a local Catholic community connected to and served through its parent parish. In Catholic usage, a mission station is a smaller community that maintains its faith life in connection with a parish rather than having the full structure of a resident parish.

The address in the export package is shown together with Gungni Catholic Church, while the official diocesan mission-station list does not provide a separate street address for Bangchuk-ri. On the basis of currently available public sources, it would therefore be unsafe to assume that the listed address is the precise location of a distinct mission-station building rather than a pastoral or administrative point associated with the parent parish.

Visitors can understand Bangchuk-ri Mission Station as a local Catholic community in the Godeok-myeon area of Pyeongtaek whose faith life is connected with Gungni Parish. Information that can change, such as current use of a particular chapel or whether Mass is presently celebrated there, should be checked through the latest parish guidance.
