About this place
The Congregatio Jesu community in Hyehwa-dong is known as the “Hyehwa Branch.” It is not a parish but a local community of women religious who live common life, prayer, and apostolic service. It is distinct in address and community identity from the Congregatio Jesu Seoul Branch registered in Oryu-dong.
Founded by Mary Ward, Congregatio Jesu follows an apostolic way of life rooted in Ignatian spirituality and seeks to unite faith and action. Education, spiritual accompaniment, and the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises are among the institute’s important apostolates. The Hyehwa Branch can be understood as a community in central Seoul living within this wider mission of the congregation.
