About this place
The community of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ in Donam-dong is known as “Donam Monastery.” It is not a parish church but a male religious community dedicated to common life, prayer, and the apostolic vocation of the Passionists, whose spirituality centers on the Passion of Jesus Christ.
Founded by St. Paul of the Cross, the Passionists understand the keeping alive of the memory of Christ’s Passion as a central vocation. This memory is not merely a contemplation of a past event; it leads them to contemplate God’s love revealed on the Cross and to respond sensitively to people who suffer today. Donam Monastery is a place in Seoul where this Passionist life of prayer and community is lived concretely.
