About this place
The community of the Franciscan Daughters of Our Lady of Fatima in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul is listed in the Korean Catholic Directory as the “Seoul Branch / Seongsim Hyoju House.” Church sources describe Seongsim Hyoju House as a group home where girls in difficult circumstances can live in a family-like setting and receive care.
It is a residential apostolate through which the congregation continues its long-standing ministry to children in Seoul, supporting their stable growth and personal development through daily care and accompaniment.
History & origins
The congregation’s group-home apostolate began in Suji in 1999, and two more homes opened in Seoul in 2000. A 2022 Church account of the congregation’s ministries identifies the present Seongsim Hyoju House in Bangbae-dong as a group home for girls within that continuing apostolate.
Seongsim Hyoju House carries forward the congregation’s work of providing children in difficult circumstances with a family-like living environment and daily care. Public sources, however, do not establish the exact date when the ministry settled at the present Bangbae-dong address.
