About this place
Munjeong 2-dong Catholic Church is a parish of District 10, Songpa, in the Archdiocese of Seoul, located at 34 Songpa-daero 27-gil in Songpa-gu. It was established on September 17, 1999, and honors the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph as its patron.
The parish began after separation from Garak-dong Parish to serve Catholics in Munjeong 2-dong and the Family Apartment area. It continues to provide a local center for Mass, the sacraments, faith formation, and parish community life.
History & origins
Munjeong 2-dong Parish was established on September 17, 1999, after separation from Garak-dong Parish. The archdiocesan notice assigned the entire Family Apartment complex and part of Munjeong 2-dong to the new parish, reflecting the need for a separate pastoral community in the growing Songpa area.
The current Catholic Church Directory in Korea records the same date of establishment. Because the available official sources do not provide a sufficiently clear step-by-step account of the early church construction, this history focuses on the verified separation and foundation of the parish.
