About this place
Muakjae Catholic Church is a parish of District 2, Seodaemun-Mapo, in the central region of the Archdiocese of Seoul. It was established on September 4, 2003, and is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
The parish serves Catholics in the Muakjae and Hongje area through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and community life. Both the parish's official information and the Catholic Directory agree on its establishment date and patronal dedication, identifying it clearly as a parish community established in the Seodaemun area in the early 2000s.
History & origins
Muakjae Parish was established as a new parish of the Archdiocese of Seoul on September 4, 2003. Both the parish's official information and the Catholic Directory give the same date and identify the Holy Trinity as its patronal dedication within District 2, Seodaemun-Mapo.
The clearly documented historical starting point is therefore the establishment of the parish itself, followed by its continuing pastoral life in the local community. Because the available official sources do not firmly document every construction or relocation date, no unsupported building chronology is added here.
