History & origins
The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary were founded by Mary of the Passion on January 6, 1877, and the Catholic Church Directory in Korea records June 26, 1958, as their date of arrival in Korea. The current directory separately lists the “Seoul Transfiguration Community” in Sindorim-dong as one of the congregation's communities.
This research did not find an official public chronology establishing when the Transfiguration Community was opened in Sindorim-dong or when it moved to its present address. The entry therefore records only the verified foundation and Korean arrival of the congregation and the community's current directory listing.
