About this place
The current facility at this address is identified as “Gunja Little Jesus House.” The Seoul Catholic Social Welfare Association lists Gunja Little Jesus House at 7-7 Jayang-ro 35-gil, Gwangjin-gu, as a welfare facility operated by the Sisters of Little Jesus.
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea directory separately lists the congregation’s present “Gunja Community” at 14-7 Neungdong-ro 21-gil. This means the target address is best understood not simply as a convent community but as a welfare facility where the Sisters carry out an apostolate of care for people with disabilities.
History & origins
A welfare-facility directory records May 10, 2012 as the registration date of Gunja Little Jesus House at 7-7 Jayang-ro 35-gil and identifies the Sisters of Little Jesus as the operating body. The current Seoul Catholic Social Welfare Association listing continues to show the same address and operator.
The congregation’s present Gunja Community is now listed at a separate address. For that reason, the history of this target is better described as the welfare-apostolate history of Gunja Little Jesus House, documented from 2012, rather than as an assumed relocation history of the convent community itself.
