The Bulgwang Community of the Sisters of Little Jesus is a religious community in Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea directory lists 21-5 Yeonseo-ro 37-gil as the community’s address, and the same address is also associated with “Bulgwang Little Jesus House,” a short-term residential facility for people with disabilities.
The site is therefore both a place of religious community life and a setting for an apostolate of care alongside people with disabilities. The Sisters of Little Jesus combine communal religious life with social-welfare service in this area.
History & origins
The Sisters of Little Jesus were founded in Korea on December 8, 1992. The congregation later established communities in several regions, including its Bulgwang Community in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
A welfare-facility directory records September 9, 2010 as the registration date of “Bulgwang Little Jesus House” at this address. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea directory still lists the same address as the Bulgwang Community of the Sisters, showing that the site has combined disability-care ministry with religious community life since the early 2010s.
