About this place
The Franciscan community in Oryu-dong, Guro-gu, is listed by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea as the “Seoul Oryu-dong Community / branch of the Seoul Sinsa-dong Friary.” Its current members are involved in ministries including Francis Shelter, Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation, and Catholic pilgrimage work in Korea.
Rather than a large friary, this is a small Franciscan community serving as a local base in Seoul. Its activities connect shelter ministry, social apostolates, and pilgrimage service with the Franciscan commitment to living among and serving people on the margins.
