The Adorers of the Blood of Christ were founded by St. Maria De Mattias at Acuto, Italy, on March 4, 1834. She understood the Blood of Christ as the revelation of God's redeeming love for every person and developed a religious mission uniting prayer, education, evangelization, and service to people in poverty.
The congregation entered Korea on October 1, 1977, and its Korean regional house is now in Changwon. A separate formation house operates in Suyu-dong, Seoul, but its exact local opening date is not stated in the public official sources reviewed. The dates 1834 and 1977 therefore refer to the congregation's foundation and Korean arrival, not to the establishment of the Suyu formation house.
