About this place
Garak 2-dong Catholic Church is a parish of the Seoul Archdiocese's Songpa District 10, located at 20 Jungdae-ro 20-gil in Songpa-gu. It was established on February 5, 2009, and is dedicated to Jesus the Good Shepherd.
The parish serves Catholics in Garak 2-dong and nearby neighborhoods through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and community life. Its patronal title highlights Christ the Good Shepherd and gives pastoral care, fellowship, and evangelization a central place in parish identity.
History & origins
Garak 2-dong Parish was established on February 5, 2009, as a new parish community of the Archdiocese of Seoul in the Songpa area. It subsequently developed its regular liturgical, sacramental, catechetical, and parish community life.
The publicly available official sources reviewed do not provide enough evidence for a detailed pre-parish mission history or an exact early church construction and dedication chronology. For that reason, no unsupported mother-parish or building dates are added, and the documented 2009 establishment is used as the secure starting point.
