The Good Shepherd Sisters’ community in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, is listed in the Korean Catholic Directory as the “Jayang-dong Community / Support House,” a women’s religious community within the Archdiocese of Seoul. The Good Shepherd Sisters entered Korea in 1966 and developed ministries of protection, education, and support for the independence of women and girls facing marginalization or difficult circumstances.
The Jayang-dong community is one of the congregation’s communities in Seoul. It is therefore best understood not as a territorial parish but as a religious house for the sisters’ community life and apostolate.
