About this place
Seokpo Catholic Church is a parish of the Namcheon District in the Diocese of Busan, where Catholics in the Daeyeon-dong and Seokpo area of Busan's Nam-gu continue their faith through Mass and the sacraments. The Catholic Church directory in Korea identifies St. Charles Hyeon Seok-mun as the parish patron, while the Diocese of Busan currently lists Seokpo as a parish of the Namcheon District.
Although the parish name comes from the local area, its Catholic identity is especially marked by its patronage of a Korean martyr saint. Through liturgy, catechesis, devotional associations, and care for neighbors, the parish supports the faith life of local Catholics. A recent diocesan report also records a volunteer initiative for the safety of elderly parishioners, showing that the community's role extends beyond worship in the church to practical care for members of the local Catholic community.
