Nae Su Catholic Church

About this place

“Naesu Eucharistic Catholic Church” is the name used in the package, while the official Diocese of Cheongju parish name is “Naesu Parish.” The diocesan record identifies the Eucharist as the parish patron, so the package name can be understood as an expression highlighting the parish’s Eucharistic patronal identity. The parish is located in Naesu-eup, Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju, and is listed as a parish community in the Cheongwon district of the Diocese of Cheongju.

Naesu Parish is the center where Catholics in Naesu-eup and the surrounding area continue their faith life around Mass and the sacraments. In keeping with its patronal dedication to the Eucharist, Catholic liturgy and community life centered on the Body of Christ form an important part of the place’s identity. The establishment year, however, differs between the current diocesan record and a church-history reference source. Its present identity and role can therefore be stated clearly, while the historical date of establishment should be treated as a separate issue requiring resolution.
