About this place
충의 성당 is an Army-affiliated parish of the Military Ordinariate of Korea, serving the Catholic faith life of military personnel. It is currently located at 경기도 안양시 동안구 평촌대로 491, and its patronal dedication is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

History & origins
충의 성당 was established on April 3, 1973. According to a Catholic Times report published in 1981, when funds were insufficient to build a new church on the base, the project moved forward through a major donation from Kim Hwang-am and Oh Soo-an, support from the military unit, and cooperation from parishioners. Construction was completed four months after work began, and a thanksgiving Mass was celebrated in the new church on August 1, 1980.
