About this place
충무 성당 is an Army-affiliated parish of the Military Ordinariate of Korea, serving the Catholic faith life of military personnel. It is currently located at 경상남도 함안군 군북면 함마대로 848, and its patronal dedication is Saint Peter.
In keeping with the Military Ordinariate’s pastoral mission, the parish supports faith life in the military through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, counseling, and related ministry. Because access and schedules can depend on military-site conditions, visitors should confirm current Mass times and access arrangements with the parish before going.
History & origins
충무 성당 was established on August 31, 1998. When the 39th Infantry Division moved from Changwon to Haman, the parish changed its name from “Chungseong” to “Chungmu” on June 30, 2015, and construction of a church at the new base site began in early June. The new church retained devotional objects including the crucifix and Marian statue from the former Chungseong church, and it was dedicated on November 7, 2015, with Bishop Yoo Soo-il presiding.
