Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

About this place

This place is the “Jindong Joseph’s House Community” of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Catholic Church directory in Korea lists the community separately as a religious house belonging to the Diocese of Masan, at the exact address given in the package. The Korean Catholic Bishops’ Conference guide to retreat and prayer houses also lists “Jindong Joseph’s House” at the same location as a facility of the Handmaids, confirming that the religious community and the retreat/prayer function are connected at this site.

The place is therefore best understood not as an independent parish church, but as a local religious community that supports retreat, prayer, and spiritual care through the common life of the sisters. The congregation carries out various apostolates more broadly, but the point directly confirmed by official sources for this specific place is the combination of the Jindong religious community and the Joseph’s House retreat facility. Changeable information such as current personnel or program schedules has been kept separate from the enduring identity of the site and omitted from the description.
