Retreat House

About this place

Swimjari is a Catholic retreat and prayer space in Gusan-myeon, Changwon, located on the same grounds as the Spirituality House of the Blood of Christ. The Directory of the Catholic Church in Korea lists it separately as “Swimjari (Fellowship House, annex of the Spirituality House),” while the entry for “Spirituality House of the Blood of Christ / Swimjari” at the same address identifies the Adorers of the Blood of Christ as the religious community responsible for the facility. It is therefore more accurate to understand this place as part of a retreat facility connected with the sisters' spirituality apostolate than as an independent parish church.

The directory's designation “Fellowship House” indicates that the place supports not only prayer and retreat but also gathering and staying together within a setting of faith. Visitors should therefore understand it not as an ordinary tourist or lodging facility but as a Catholic spiritual space linked to the Spirituality House of the Blood of Christ. The fact that the main spirituality house and Swimjari, its annex, are registered separately on the same grounds is also an important feature for identifying the place correctly. In mapping or place data, the two should therefore not be casually merged into one entry but understood as separate facilities connected within the same spirituality apostolate.
