About this place
The Buksin-dong community of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill is a local women’s religious house within the Diocese of Masan, living at the same location as Buksin-dong Catholic Church in Tongyeong and sharing in the life of the parish community. The Catholic directory lists it specifically as the “Buksin-dong Community” of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, while the parish entry for Buksin-dong also names the congregation as the religious sisters serving the parish, confirming the present relationship between the two communities.
The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill stand in the tradition of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and have carried out apostolates responding to the needs of their times in education, social welfare, parish ministry, retreats, and other fields. The Buksin-dong community is meaningful as a local religious house that lives this wider charism within the Church of Tongyeong. Public sources do not provide enough detail to define every specific current ministry of the branch, but its identity as a community of religious sisters living close to and connected with the parish is clear.
