About this place
Sangri Mission Station is a Catholic mission-station community in Sangri-myeon, Goseong-gun, within the Diocese of Masan, continuing its faith life in connection with Goseong Parish. The Catholic Directory of Korea lists it as a mission station of the Diocese of Masan at its present Sangri-myeon address, and Catholic press records likewise identify it as Sangri Mission Station of Goseong Parish.
The significance of the place is found less in its size than in the role of a mission station in sustaining faith within the local area. A 2006 record describes a member of Sangri Mission Station receiving a diocesan evangelization award and expressing a commitment to local evangelization and care for the elderly, while in 2021 the faith experience of a Sangri member was again featured in Catholic media. Sangri can therefore be understood as a rural center of lived faith where Catholics support one another, remain connected with the parish, and preserve a community of prayer.
