The exact founding date and earliest organizational history of Saengcho Mission Station are not specified in the publicly available official sources. However, the Diocese of Masan’s official history of Sancheong Parish lists Saengcho among the thirteen mission stations placed under the parish when Sancheong was elevated to parish status on December 20, 1965. This confirms that a Catholic mission-station community had already formed in Saengcho-myeon before that date.

From its establishment, Sancheong Parish was responsible not only for Sancheong-eup but also for mission stations scattered across the county. Saengcho was incorporated into this network and continued to connect local Catholics with the parish. In a mountainous rural region such as Sancheong, this network of mission stations provided an important community structure that helped bridge long distances and local transportation conditions.

Detailed records of later construction or relocation have not been sufficiently verified, but Saengcho continues to appear in recent diocesan statistics and in the Catholic Directory of Korea. The verifiable historical line is therefore that the mission station already existed when Sancheong Parish was established in 1965, entered the pastoral structure of the new parish, and has continued as a Catholic community in the same locality to the present.
