About this place
The Masan community of the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters is listed in the Directory of the Catholic Church in Korea as the “Masan Community, Busan District.” Located in Sangnam-dong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, within the Diocese of Masan, it is a local religious community in which the consecrated life of the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters is lived within the local Church.
It is important to understand this place not as an independent Catholic parish but as a local house of a community of consecrated women. It is a place of common prayer and religious life, including a chapel, where the sisters live their vocation in the Church; its character is therefore different from that of a parish church serving its own territorial parish.
