About this place
Munjeong Mission Station is a Catholic mission station in Hyucheon-myeon, Hamyang-gun, within the Diocese of Masan and is currently under the pastoral care of Hamyang Parish. The Catholic directory identifies Munjeong as a mission station in Area 3 of the Jinju District, and the Catholic Encyclopedia of Korea also lists it among the mission stations of Hamyang Parish.
In a wide rural pastoral territory such as Hamyang-gun, mission stations are important because they give Catholics living far from the parish church a nearby place to gather, pray, and sustain community life. Munjeong can therefore be understood as a small local center linking Hamyang Parish with Catholics in the surrounding area. Public official sources, however, do not provide sufficient detail on regular liturgical arrangements or the mission station's own history, so potentially changing schedules and unverified historical claims are omitted here.
