About this place
Haman Catholic Church is a parish of the Diocese of Masan in Area 3 of the Masan District, serving Catholics centered on Gaya-eup in Haman County through Mass, the sacraments, faith formation, and community life. Diocesan sources show Haman as a longstanding parish community that existed well before the Diocese of Masan became an independent diocese, making it an important center of Catholic life in the Haman area. The Masan branch of the Missionary Sisters of Korea is also registered at the same site, showing the presence of a religious community serving within the local Church.
The significance of Haman Catholic Church extends beyond the parish building in the town center. It has served as a pastoral center linking Catholic communities and mission stations formed in different parts of Haman, giving the parish considerable historical weight in the region. Visitors today encounter both the ordinary liturgical and communal life of a parish and a central point in the longer story of how Catholic faith spread and took root in a rural area. The precise year of the parish’s establishment, however, differs between official diocesan records and requires separate review.
