About this place
Dangye Mission Station is a Catholic mission station of the Diocese of Masan in Sindeung-myeon, Sancheong-gun. The current Catholic directory lists “Dangye” as a mission station of the diocese, confirming the identity of the present community. In a rural area some distance from a parish church, it can be understood as a local place where Catholics gather close to home for prayer and to sustain community faith.
The Sancheong area is made up of widely dispersed mountain and farming villages, so mission communities have long had an important role. Dangye likewise provides a setting in which a small Catholic community can support one another in faith and maintain a visible Church presence in the area. Because currently available official sources do not sufficiently establish the details of regular Mass arrangements or the present mother-parish administration, this introduction is limited to its verified identity and regional significance.
