About this place
Baedun Mission Station is a Catholic mission station of the Diocese of Masan in the Baedun area of Hoehwa-myeon, Goseong-gun. The current Catholic directory lists Baedun as a mission station of the diocese, while the Catholic Encyclopedia of Korea also records Baedun among the mission communities historically associated with Goseong Parish. It provides Catholics living some distance from a parish church with a nearby place to gather for prayer and sustain community life.
Located in the Hoehwa-myeon area of eastern Goseong, Baedun illustrates the role of a mission station in connecting Catholics scattered across a rural region with the wider parish community. The encyclopedia's jurisdictional information is not sufficiently current to determine today's mother parish on its own, however, so no present parish affiliation is asserted solely from that source. Public sources also do not provide reliable details on regular Masses or current pastoral schedules, and this introduction is therefore limited to the verified identity of Baedun as a mission station of the Diocese of Masan and its local community role.
