About this place
Jihyeon-dong Catholic Church is a parish of the Jungwon District in the Diocese of Cheongju and serves as the local pastoral community responsible for Mass and sacramental life for Catholics in Jihyeon-dong, Chungju, and nearby areas. The official diocesan listing names the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary as its patron, and the diocesan district roster identifies Jihyeon-dong as a parish of the Jungwon District.
As a parish located in the urban area of Chungju, Jihyeon-dong Catholic Church is a central place where the faithful celebrate the liturgy and sacraments and continue catechesis, devotional life, and community activities. Its most important present identity is that of a parish helping local Catholics remain connected to the Church close to their daily lives and sustain faith across generations. The exact date of its early establishment differs among sources and therefore requires separate treatment in the history section, but its present diocesan affiliation, patron, and local pastoral role are clearly verified by official sources.
