About this place
Cheongho Mission Station is a Catholic mission station in the Buan area that appears in the current Diocese of Jeonju list under Deungyong Parish. The diocesan list marks it as 'not in operation,' so visitors should not assume that it functions like an actively operating mission station with regular liturgies. The place nevertheless remains listed in both the diocesan mission-station directory and the Catholic Church Directory in Korea, confirming it as a church site that preserves a trace of the local Catholic community.
To understand Cheongho Mission Station, its present operating status should be distinguished from its historical identity as a mission station. Such stations traditionally served as local centers where Catholics living far from a parish church sustained their communal faith life, but the Diocese of Jeonju currently identifies Cheongho as inactive. Visitors should therefore follow the latest guidance of the responsible parish rather than assume that Mass or communal prayer services are regularly held on site.
