About this place
The Jeju branch of the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters is a women’s religious community registered in the Diocese of Jeju. The Catholic Church directory identifies it as the “Busan District: Jeju Branch,” and the Diocese of Jeju places the community within Kim Ki-ryang Parish. This location should therefore be understood as a religious house where sisters live in community and carry out apostolic service in close proximity to the parish, not as an independent parish or a separate parish church.
The Olivetan Benedictine Sisters belong to the Benedictine monastic tradition and in Korea have carried out apostolates in parishes, education, health care, and social welfare. The significance of the Jeju branch lies in this Benedictine religious presence within the Diocese of Jeju. Public official sources, however, do not provide a detailed account of the branch’s current individual ministries, so the broader activities of the congregation are not presented as though every one of them were carried out at this specific location.
