About this place
This place is the Jeju community of the Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity within the Diocese of Jeju. The Catholic Directory of Korea lists the community at 20 Sinseon-gil, Jeju City as the “Jeju community” of the Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity, and the congregation’s official apostolate page also records parish ministry in Jeju City within the Diocese of Jeju. It should therefore be understood not as an ordinary parish church, but as a local religious community where sisters live in community and carry out apostolic ministry.
The Blessed Sacrament Sisters of Charity were founded in 1956 by Father Lawrence Yoon Eul-su as an apostolic congregation. Their spirituality is centered on “inbo,” neighborly charity and care rooted in the love of the Eucharist. The congregation has expressed this mission through parish ministry, social welfare, education, overseas mission, and other apostolates. The Jeju community is one local expression of that spirituality in communion with the Diocese of Jeju.
