About this place
The Bupyeong 4-dong community of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a women's religious community living within the Diocese of Incheon and located on the same grounds as Bupyeong 4-dong Catholic Church. As the congregation's name suggests, its consecrated life is centered on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and on following Christ through prayer and community life in daily life.
The Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus originated in Korea and, from their earliest years, embraced service to people who were poor or had no one to rely on as an important mission. The Bupyeong 4-dong community belongs within this spiritual and apostolic tradition. Its significance lies in being a religious community beside the parish that bears witness to the Church's life of prayer and service.
