About this place
Seongam Mission Station is a Catholic mission station of the Diocese of Incheon located in Seongam-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan, serving as a place where Catholics in the Daebudo area can form a local community of faith close to where they live. The official Catholic directory in Korea lists Seongam separately as a mission station of the Diocese of Incheon, and the Korean Catholic Bishops’ Conference guide to churches near tourist destinations also presents Seongam Mission Station alongside Daebu Parish as a distinct mission station.
A mission station is a local Catholic community smaller than a parish and connected to parish pastoral care, providing a place where the faithful can pray together and participate in the Church’s liturgical life. Seongam is therefore best understood not as an independent parish church but as a mission station that sustains the faith of Catholics in the Daebudo living area. Information such as Mass times or personnel, which may change, is excluded here so that the description remains focused on its verified present identity as a mission station of the Diocese of Incheon.
