About this place
Seochang-dong Parish belongs to the Namdong District of the Catholic Diocese of Incheon. It is the local Catholic community in which Catholics of Seochang-dong and nearby residential areas participate in Mass and the sacraments and continue catechetical and community activities. The official Catholic directory in Korea currently lists Seochang-dong as an independent parish of the Diocese of Incheon.
The parish serves the local Church’s role of enabling Catholics in an urban residential area to gather nearby for the liturgy and form a community of faith. Within the wider pastoral structure of the diocese, it continues to support the religious life of local Catholics. Because a discrepancy was found between the establishment date in the official directory and the date reported at the time, this introduction is limited to the parish’s present identity and role, while the chronological question is left unresolved in the history section.
