About this place
The Somyeong community of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill is listed in the Catholic Church directory in Korea as a women’s institute of consecrated life affiliated with the Diocese of Incheon, under the official English name Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. Located in the Sosa area of Bucheon, it is not a territorial parish church but a base for the sisters’ common life, prayer, and apostolic work.
The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill stand in the tradition begun by Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and developed as an active religious institute responding to the needs of its times through education, social welfare, and specialized ministries. In Korea, the congregation serves in several dioceses through parish ministry, education, social welfare, spiritual retreats, and other apostolates. The Somyeong community can therefore be understood as a local community of the congregation within the Diocese of Incheon, living within this Seton tradition of spirituality and service; visitors should distinguish its function as a religious community from that of an ordinary parish facility.
