Eungye Parish was established as the new residential area of Siheung's Eungye district was taking shape. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea records January 14, 2019, as the parish's foundation date. Reliable public sources do not yet provide a long parish chronology, but they clearly establish that an independent pastoral community for Catholics in the new-town area began at that time.
After its establishment, the community explored pastoral approaches suited to the family composition and living environment of the new residential district. In 2024, the Catholic Times reported that Eungye Parish had created a “families with infants and young children” division within its parish pastoral council and fostered a so-called “Yes Kids Zone” culture to help families with small children participate in Mass without undue anxiety.
Within the parish's relatively short history, this initiative illustrates one way the Eungye community sought to connect the realities of family life in a new-town setting with participation in the liturgy.
