About this place
Bugae-dong Catholic Church is a parish of the Bupyeong District in the Diocese of Incheon, serving Catholics in the Bugae-dong area of Bupyeong-gu. The current Catholic Church in Korea directory gives 'the Word of God' as its patronal title, and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary of Mirinae currently share in parish ministry. Through Mass, the sacraments, the proclamation of the Word, catechesis, and community life, the parish supports the everyday faith of local Catholics.
Its patronal title, 'the Word of God,' clearly expresses a parish identity centered on listening to Scripture and putting it into practice. Rather than a special pilgrimage or memorial site, Bugae-dong is best understood as a place of the living Church within a residential district of Bupyeong, where Catholics gather regularly for liturgy and the sacraments and support one another in faith.
